A Study for the Improvement of Nursing Education in Korean Especially in Relation to Job Satisfaction Factors of Clinical Nurse



Abstract
It is the purpose of this study to identify important job satisfaction factor for the clinical nurse and compare the degree of satisfaction of each job satisfaction factor for the different characteristics of nurse¢¥s individual background.
Five specific hypotheses were formulated.
Hypothesis 1) Most significant factors for the degree of overall. job satisfaction
will be salary, interest in work itself and working condition.
2) Job security and task achievement will be the most satisfied
factors.
3) Salary and working, condition will be the least satisfied factors.4) The degree of satisfaction in job content will be higher than the
job context, regardless of nurses job satisfaction and dissatisfaction.5) The degree of satisfaction for each job. satisfaction factor will
be differed by the characteristics of the nurse¢¥s individual background.
463 nurses were randomly sampled from all parts of this country and were administered the modified job satisfaction scales, by which is measured the degree of overall job satisfaction and job factor, satisfaction.
The main findings of this study were as follows.
1) Most significant job factors for overall job satisfaction of the staff nurse
were salary, working condition, status and interest in work itself.
2) Most significant job, factors for overall job satisfaction of the head nurse and
supervisor were interest in work itself, personal life, recognition for task
achievement and status.
3) Job responsibility, job security, interpersonal relation with peers and task achievement were most satisfied factors.
4) Salary, hospital policy and administration, advancement and technical supervision were the least satisfied factors.
5)The nurses satisfaction degree of job content was higher than the job context, regardless of the nurses job satisfaction and dissatisfaction.
f) The degree of satisfaction for each job satisfaction factor was differed by the characteristics of the nurse¢¥s individual background.
